Combo Flush Truck Operator

THIS POSITION: We are seeking to hire an experienced Combo Flush Truck Operator to support sewer and pipeline cleaning operations across Florida and the Carolinas.

This is a hands-on, travel-based role requiring prior experience operating a combination sewer cleaning unit. This is not a training role. Candidates must be able to step in and operate equipment from day one.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Assists in setting up, driving, and operating a combination unit (sewer cleaner) as well as various other equipment in the performance of daily operations. Operates waste hauling vehicles as directed based on operational needs.

This role involves operating a combo flush truck that uses both high-pressure water jetting and vacuum systems to clear sewer lines and blockages. Operators must understand proper PSI ranges and flushing techniques to safely and effectively complete work without causing damage to residential or commercial systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load and prepare equipment for upcoming jobs. Unload equipment upon arrival and reload upon completion
  • Set up and operate sewer cleaning equipment, including high-pressure water jet and vacuum systems
  • Operate within proper PSI ranges (typically 800–1100 PSI) to safely clear blockages without damaging infrastructure
  • Handle hoses and equipment up to 100 lbs, climb onto units (up to 12 feet high), and perform minor maintenance
  • Drive company vehicles, including CDL-required vehicles (manual and automatic transmissions)
  • Set up and operate handheld tools and equipment such as power tools and shovels
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and environments, including exposure to raw sewage, fumes, chemicals, and noise
  • Place traffic cones and barricades, remove manhole covers, and assess job site setup
  • Locate and identify line sections using maps and determine proper cleaning procedures
  • Maintain responsibility for personal safety and quality of work performed
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with FMCSR guidelines
  • Maintain accurate Hours of Service logs when required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 to 3+ years of direct combo flush truck experience required
  • Must have hands-on experience operating a combo sewer cleaning unit, not just hydro vac equipment
  • Strong understanding of sewer line flushing, pressure control, and safe operating procedures
  • Experience working with PTO systems and engine-driven equipment
  • Class A or Class B CDL required, Tanker endorsement preferred
  • Clean CDL with no moving violations
  • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening requirements

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires extended travel up to 6 to 8 weeks at a time. Work is primarily throughout Florida, with additional coverage across the Carolinas. Per diem and hotel accommodations are provided.
