Cycle Counter (Material Handler)

We are hiring a Cycle Counter for our client, a global leader in material handling solutions. This role is part of the Spares Department, which manages all spare parts orders and supports manufacturing operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the warehouse. This role monitors warehouse inventory, performs daily cycle counting activities, and ensures all materials are properly verified and reflective of reported inventory levels. The Cycle Counter plays a key role in identifying discrepancies, supporting operational efficiency, and improving financial accuracy through consistent inventory control practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily cycle counts by counting and reconciling randomly selected part numbers and warehouse locations.
- Conduct routine inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify, report, and research discrepancies involving quantity, location, labeling, damaged, or incorrect materials.
- Investigate root causes of inventory errors and recommend corrective actions.
- Research misplaced or unaccounted-for products and support reconciliation efforts.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, primarily Sales and Production, regarding inventory needs, production schedules, and customer delivery requirements.
- Provide impartial findings and investigation results to management to improve operational processes and financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with individuals and departments to resolve inventory issues promptly and efficiently.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks (narrow aisle), pallet jacks, wrap machines, and related tools.
- Maintain current forklift certification and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Enter inventory and count data accurately into SAP and other systems.
- Support 5S initiatives, safety programs, and barcode implementation efforts.
- Attend all required meetings, trainings, and certifications, including fall arrest certification as needed.
- Maintain a highly organized work approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of inventory or cycle counting experience preferred.
- Strong basic math skills, including unit conversions, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- SAP, MS Office, and PC based tools experience.
- Excellent communication skills with professional courtesy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, reach truck, wrap machines).
- Ability to communicate effectively through email and phone.
- Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, and weekends as scheduled.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Use hands for handling, feeling, and grasping materials.
- Reach with hands and arms frequently.
- Stand, sit, and move throughout the warehouse environment.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently
- Work at heights and become fall arrest certified if required.
The work environment may occasionally include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, or electrical risks. Noise levels are generally quiet.
