Production Operator

Department: Walker Products - Contract Labor
Location: Grand Junction, CO

SUMMARY:

Assembly / production of various materials in building engine control devices such as oxygen sensors, carburetor repair kits, components, wire-sets and other related products or subassemblies. Safely operating machinery / equipment in an assembly environment. Responsible for working within a team setting to ensure that products are made to quality specifications for on-time customer delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assembles various components and products in building O2 sensors, carburetor repair kits, wire sets, or other components to engineered drawings, diagrams or schematics.
  2. Continuous operation of smooth and efficient production to established procedures maintaining quality standards and performing basic quality checks while adhering to safety guidelines.
  3. Reporting of any issues of production or unsafe equipment and tools required in the department.
  4. Learning how to be proficient at basic levels of the required production processes to include pieces per hour (PPH) requirements on various equipment and tools.
  5. Learning the importance of how to accurately record their labor and measurements per operation.
  6. Learn how to use all functions of reporting rework, scrap, and indirect times when applicable.
  7. Production Operator I will learn proficiency with basic operations and tasks needed to assemble/produce the product within the department.
  8. $16/hr to START

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follows current safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe work environment including the 6S program.
  2. Rotates to different workstations to meet production needs.
  3. Because of the changing nature of our business, the employee will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School degree or GED preferred.
  2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  3. Requires good hand/eye coordination and color discrimination.
  4. Occasionally required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel and stand for long periods of time.

Schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6am-4pm.
