Brake Press Operator

THIS POSITION:

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for using machinery to manipulate metal into various shapes and forms. Press brake operators manufacture tools, metal, and other pieces of equipment using a press brake to make punches, bends, and cuts into sheet or plate metal

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
• Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
• Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
• Measures and aligns materials to be used.
• Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Performs routine maintenance on the press brake.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Ability to safely and effectively operate press brake controls.
• Ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans (drawing/blueprint).
• Ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, and material specs.
• Basic computer and math skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a High School or higher degree.
• One year of experience in metal fabrication or related work is preferred.
• At least one years' experience using a brake press machine (Trumpf, Accupress, Baykal, and/or Bystronic machines preferred).
• At least one years' experience with CNC controls, tooling setup, and performing routine maintenance.
• Proficient in computer-based systems (SAP experience preferred).

Salary range:

$22 to $28 per hour depending on experience
